About Us

Crucible Sound is a new improvised music series hosted by Modernformations Gallery. Each month, musicians from different backgrounds and styles collaborate to create live improvised soundworks. The series seeks to support the creation of unexpected music in Pittsburgh and to increase awareness and understanding of the practice of improvisation. Crucible Sound is organized by multi-instrumentalist and improviser Anthony Levin-Decanini.
